Further Photographs of Craiglockhart Scenes

The Union Canal wends its way through Craiglockhart and its tow path is extensively used by joggers, walkers and cyclists - not to mention the various on-the-water boating activities.

Craighouse was originally a Victorian Sanatorium and has played various roles over the years but currently serves as one of the many homes to Napier University.

This splendidly arched aqueduct was built in 1822 to carry the Union Canal across the valley of the Water of Leith.

The Water of Leith as it flows first under the Union Canal and then the bridge built to carry the Caledonian Railway line.

Wester Craiglockhart hill at 175 meters is the highest point in the area and from the triangulation station on top there are fine views all round including towards the Pentland Hills to the south.

Craiglockhart Pond is the home to our family of swans and also provides youngsters with their first experience of kayaking and sailing.
