Our current secretary is moving away from our area and is unfortunately having to relinquish the position. If you have an interest in our local community please read on.
We would like to find someone resident in our area who has an interest in what is happening in our community and would like to be involved in some of the local issues. With communication often now electronic access to e-mail would be needed.
Our meetings are normally two monthly and the main duties would be preparing the agendas along with our chairman and writing short minutes of these meetings. Examples of agendas and minutes can be seen on this website. There would also be some correspondence to be dealt with.
The Community Council has ten elected members who would help and support as required.
Some issues we get involved in are major planning applications, parking and traffic matters, antisocial behaviour and the improvement of our amenities and facilities.
We have contact with other interest groups in our area such as the Water of Leith Trust,
It is not a lot of work and the timing is pretty flexible.
